What are Dental Implants?
Dental Implants provide a dental restoration that offers the closest look and feel to your natural teeth. With a strong foundation, our patients love how implants give the functionality of a normal tooth. At East Valley Implant & Periodontal Center, we can replace one, multiple, or even all of your missing or severely damaged teeth, using dental implants congruently with other devices including dentures and bridges. Patients with dental implants, including implant retained dentures and bridges, report greater satisfaction and longer lasting results than with any other type of dental restoration.
Primary Parts of a Dental Implant
Dental implants are comprised of two primary parts: a small titanium post and a crown. The small titanium post is implanted directly into the jawbone. This gives your new tooth root a very strong base. We use titanium because of its unique compatibility with human tissue, with time, your tissue will grow around the implant, making it a permanent part of your jaw.
Once the post is secure, with some healing time, we will attach the dental crown or other dental fixture to the post. Your new titanium post is strong, secure and will give you the look and feel of your natural tooth. Consult with one of our dentists, Dr. Jorgenson, Dr. Capps, or Dr. Harbertson to see if you are a candidate for a dental implant, we have options for various situations including bone loss, injury, disease or post surgery.
