, surgical periodontal therapy, and cosmetic periodontal plastic surgery. Originally from the Phoenix valley, he studied Biology as an undergraduate at Arizona State University
. Dr. Capps then attended the School of Dental Medicine
at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. In dental school, the American Academy of Implant Dentistry awarded him the certificate for outstanding achievement in implant dentistry. He was also the recipient of the award for outstanding achievement in periodontics from the American Academy of Periodontology.Dr. Capps then completed an intensive three-year surgical residency at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics , where he earned a specialty certificate of advanced education in periodontics. He went on to achieve the status of Diplomate with the American Board of Periodontology, which is the highest recognition of achievement awarded by the specialty. Dr. Capps has a unique enthusiasm for his work, and is known for his empathetic approach to patient care.
As Arizona natives, Dr. Capps, his wife, and four children love the desert and are happy to be surrounded by their families in the East Valley. He was a professional pianist before dental school and still loves to play in his spare time. Dr. Capps loves camping and fishing with his kids, enjoys classic rock trivia, and is proud of his reign as ping-pong champion of the UNLV dental school. He has a dynamic, engaging personality and is excited to meet patients and help them achieve their goals.
