5 Dental Tips to Maximize Teeth and Gum Health

Posted on 2/7/2022 by Todd Jorgenson
5 Dental Tips to Maximize Teeth and Gum HealthYour oral health is important and needs to be observed at all times. To maintain healthy gums and teeth there are things that you need to observe. Our dentist will guide you on things that you need to do to have healthy teeth and gums and avoid dental hazards.

Brushing

Brushing is one thing that you should always incorporate into your routine. Ensure that you use fluoride toothpaste while brushing your teeth. Brushing of the teeth should be done at least twice daily. This will help in washing away the food particles that are in the teeth and those that might bring about tooth decay and dental cavities.

Flossing

Flossing is another important thing that you need to do at all times, flossing ensures that all the food particles are in between the teeth. If flossing is not done the food particles in between the teeth will combine with bacteria in the mouth forming acid. The acid erodes the enamel and exposes the dentin. this will lead to tooth decay, cavities and can lead to eventual tooth loss.

Eat well

Eating a healthy diet is an important thing and will maintain your teeth and gums in good health. Avoid foods that are acidic for they cause erosion of the enamel. Sugary foods are also not good for the teeth and gums, when sugar gets stuck on the teeth it combines with bacteria and this leads to erosion of enamel hence tooth decay and tooth loss.

Avoid drinking and smoking

Smoking and alcohol cause problems to the teeth and gums where the acids and nicotine constrict blood flow.

Regular dental visits

Ensure that you visit our dentist regularly, this will help the dentist to conduct the regular examination of the teeth and gums and will detect any oral issue that might be coming up
