Many at times, getting your child to brush their teeth can be a daunting task. On many occasions, it will always feel like a battle. Regular brushing routines are healthy habits that will help combat tooth decay and also support lifelong dental health for the young one.
Developing a great brushing routine
Immediately your child gets their first tooth; brushing should begin. Even before the child starts to develop their first tooth, you can always practice dental hygiene by gently wiping their gums with a damp cloth at least twice every day.
Once your child turns two, then you can begin brushing their teeth with fluoride for about two minutes. Always remember to make the brushing process a positive and fun experience. Here are some of the steps that you can take to help keep track of how often your child brushes their teeth.
Keeping track of how often your child brushes
Make brushing a family activity Whenever it's possible, make cleaning a family activity at least once every day. During brushing, you can model to your kids how to properly brush their teeth.
Make it fun
While brushing, you can include games, songs, anything that will ensure that your kid enjoys the process. By making the process fun, you and your kid will be able to keep track of how often they brush their teeth.
Right tools
There are hundreds of colors and designs to choose from. Allow your kid to pick their ideal toothpaste and toothbrush so that they will be able to stick to a brushing routine easily.
Tracking progress
In a few minutes each day, your kids will be able to establish a healthy dental care routine. Always ensure that your child brushes their teeth for at least two minutes. You can use the timer on your phone to determine how long your child brushes their teeth. As a parent, you should learn always to bring your child for regular dental checkups. Regular dental check ups will help keep various dental conditions at bay.
