Causes and Cures for Bleeding GumsThe causes for bleeding gums can fall into two categories. Home remedies and time can help with some causes for bleeding gums and others require the help of a dental professional. It is important to figure out why gums are bleeding.
Minor ProblemsBleeding gums may not be a big deal. These are some of the minor issues that cause bleeding gums.

Cuts - Cuts in the gums are very common. Gums are a soft tissue and are cut easily. Most cuts heal fairly quickly. The bleeding should also stop quickly.

Bleeding while Flossing - If you notice blood on your floss, you may think it is a big problem, but it could mean you are using the wrong technique. |
Other Causes
Bleeding gums could be a sign of a more serious issue. This can include gum disease. If the bleeding gums are combined with other symptoms such as pain, loose teeth and discoloration of the gums, it is possible that there is gum disease causing the bleeding.
When the reasons for bleeding are persistent and keep happening despite the efforts to correct them, it is possible that there is more of a problem than you can fix on your own. In this case, it is time to contact our dental professionals.
