Posted on 12/1/2023 by Weo Admin
Elderly woman enjoying her new smileDentures are artificial teeth that are used in place of missing teeth. There are different kinds of dentures in the market each made from varying materials to serve different purposes. They include full dentures, temporary dentures, partial dentures, fixed bridge dentures, cantilever bridges, implants, and snap-on dentures. All these and more types, however, need to be taken care of regardless of the material. Taking care of dentures is important for our oral health. How do you take care of dentures?

How often should I clean them

Your dentures should receive the same care as your natural teeth. It is recommended that you clean them thoroughly once a day and especially after eating. Cleaning them reduces the chances of bacterial infections and loss of more teeth.

How should I take care of my dentures

Dentures are fragile; therefore, they are subject to breaking if dropped. While cleaning dentures you need to be aware of the fact that they can scratch. Non-abrasive denture cleaners are the most recommended by dentists and do not scrub them too hard. Generally, you should brush and soak your dentures every night. This helps reduce the bits of food that might be left in the teeth. Ask for denture cleaning solution when you visit us, this will help in removing any plaque and stains on them and serve as a disinfectant as well. If there is a buildup of plaque, you are advised to seek dental intervention. Whether your dentures have stains, whether they have soft lining or even metallic dentures, our team is ready to offer you the services you need in regards to keeping your oral health at its best. You are assured of first-class care from our trained dentists. Your oral health is what keeps us alive.
