This is how you save a knocked-out tooth |
Posted on 11/1/2023 by Weo Admin |
Having been involved in an accident or anything that might result in losing your teeth is not anything to worry about anymore. If it is an adult's tooth you can try putting it back in its place but if it is a baby's tooth, do not try to re-insert. Just visit the dentist immediately. Losing a tooth does not mean an entire tooth, you might have a crack on your tooth if the tooth is chipped, all these are dental emergencies. Steps to be followed to ensure that the tooth is restored successfully are focused on below.
Tooth loss
If the tooth has been knocked out entirely, you are responsible for finding the tooth, rinsing the tooth in water, replacing the tooth to its place by holding the crown (the part that sticks out of the gum), and then biting into a cotton garment or a handkerchief to hold the tooth down as you seek dental assistance.
Broken or chipped tooth
The tooth might also be broken or chipped, in such instances, you are advised to try and find the chipped tooth and store it in milk. You are also encouraged to see a dentist who will find a way to glue the fragment back. In case you do not find the fragment, however, you should see the dentist. The dentist will use a filling material to restore your tooth. This can be done using a crown or a filling. If the tooth is badly damaged and the nerves are exposed, the dentists are responsible for performing a root canal treatment. This and more procedures are performed by our team of trained dentists. Tooth loss might seem like the end of it, but it is not, make the call now and let us take you through the recovery process.
